Before you pick me up...

So the last 2 days, before I drop William off somewhere, he has instructed me on what I should do while he is at Grandma's/school.  It's great hahaha.

"Mommy, after you drop me off, you need eat and sleep, then go to Daddy's work and check on him, and then you can come and pick me up for swim class."

The best kid ever.

I need to take care of Daddy.

Upon waking up this morning:

William: Good morning, Mommy!
Me: Good morning, William!
William: Where's Daddy?
Me: He is downstairs.
William: Ok, because I need to take care of him.

[Daddy was feeling sick yesterday so William already wanted to help him feel better]

Just what I needed to cancel out a rough start to my morning. 💕👨👦

I really want to sleep..

We were about to drive home from Allentown tonight and it's rather late:

William:  Mommy, I don't need to do anything right now because I really want to sleep.

Me: 😂 okay baby, goodnight.

Love this kid, he just gets it.

Get enough rest...

"You have to get enough rest so that you will not shrink."

His words of wisdom for today 😂

Why is Grandpa shrinking?

William: Mommy, why is Grandpa shrinking?
Me: Shrinking?  Who told you that?
William: Grandma said so.

[I look at Grandma and she starts laughing]

Me: Oh.... I guess she means when you get old... you start to shrink.

Random pic of William in his new room.  I checked on him via the webcam around 6:30am and for a moment I couldn't believe how big he looked.  He's just 4, but for some reason, in this moment, he looks so grown up to me.

It's nice to pray as a family!

This morning William prayed for our breakfast. When he was done praying and we said, "Amen", he said,

"It's nice to pray together as a family!"

❤❤❤❤❤

Here's a random pic of William eating broccoli bc he loves it lol!

William and his fast poops

William:  I need to poop!
Me: Okay, go ahead!
William: Can you please read me a book?
Me: Here, you can read one yourself...
Him: But I want you to read it please.

Me: Okay I will read you the Potty book.

[I open the first page]

"I have to go potty..."

Him: Ok I am done!

Me: Oh okay! Hahahahaha!

William eats his fiber, that's for sure. 2 minutes or less every time LOL.

I need my honey drink

Him: Mommy, can you make me milk with honey and a little bit of salt?

Me: Huh? Who taught you about that drink?

Him: Grandma and Daddy.

Me:  Do you really need a little salt?

Him: Yes, it makes it more tasty.

I am gonna have to ask his dad about this LOL.

William's lunch for today

William: Mommy, what did you pack for my lunch today?
Me: Turkey and cheese, applesauce, raisins and water.
William:  Can I have yogurt instead of applesauce?  i can eat the applesauce at home later today.
Me: Okay, I'll pack you yogurt and blueberries.
William: Can you pack me granola too?
Me: Okay, do you want it already on the yogurt?
William: Not yet, please put it in a plastic and I will spread it on the yogurt myself.
Me:  Okay, sounds good!

I don't know what it is about these food convos, but I love having them with my 4 year old. It's definitely important to know how to eat healthy from the beginning.  And healthy can still be yummy.  I'm glad William just gets it.

Mommy, can I make my own dinner?

After picking up William from school today (his first school day in a week!!!), he asked if we could go to Dunkin' hahahaha.  I said we'd have to go another day but that there are a couple of donuts at home.. he'd just have to eat it after dinner.

He then asked if he could help get his own dinner.  Alright buddy, no problem!

Me: Soup or chicken?
Him: Chicken!
Me: Quinoa?
Him: Yes!
Me: What else?

He looks in the fridge.

Him: Feta cheese and avocado.
Me: Alrighty!!

I let him assemble his plate and warm it up.  Then we added the feta and avocado.  He ate every last bite of it hahahaha.

He can have his weekly donut now hahaha.

William and the old backpack...

I am thankful that William isn't really too particular about certain material things...

His "Go Diego Go" backpack got a broken strap over the weekend (it's been through a lot hahaha), and since we were traveling, we couldn't find time to go to the store and get him a replacement. I thought he would be really sad about it, but he wasn't even phased. This morning at home, I found an old plain black backpack which is a bit too big for him, but figured it could do as a placeholder til I could get him something else. I felt kind of guilty about it, like I dropped the ball or something. But when we showed up to school today, he immediately told his teacher, "I got a new backpack!" And he was soooo happy about it.

It's definitely not new, and it's not even really supposed to be for him. It's silly, but I think I got teary eyed. Maybe a little embarrassed. Maybe it's just that I'm pregnant HAHAHA.

... but I just am soooo thankful that somehow, William sees sunshine where I just might see clouds LOL.

Thanks for reading my weird emotional post. But William, whether he means to or not, constantly reminds me to be thankful for the little things.

Anywhere, here's a pic of William at school today:

Breakfast and wives

Because I'm all in my feelings right now, I'm going to share this casual video from this morning.  William has been sick the last 3 days, and I was hoping that today he'd be well enough that he could go on errands with me... ones I was supposed to do while he was supposed to be in school hehehe.  But alas, he is still feverish, so rather than take a sick kid around, I had to drop him at Grandma's a day earlier than planned just so I can get a bunch of stuff done before the weekend.  I'm just a bit sad about it all, and William was as well.  He doesn't usually cry when I take him to Grandma's but this time he let me have it LOL.  Partly b/c he was sick and also sleepy, so I understand.  I miss him so much, but at least I was able to get a bunch of things done so that we can be ready for everything we have to do this weekend!  And I pray that he will feel better soon, he's in good hands with Grandma, and of course, God.  God will take care of Him while me and Daddy perform our duties this weekend.  Then we will be together again and get to have some fun at a Church activity!

ANYWAY, back to the video.  We talked about breakfast.. and he told me when he plans to have a wife... at least I think that's what happened.  He also said hi to the baby hehe!

Poor sick kid

I am thankful that even when  William is sick, he is still in good spirits. The only thing I notice is that he gets more clingy. Like... he has to follow me around the whole house. Even to the bathroom.  I am not used to this hahahahaha.

But his reason for following me to the bathroom was cute:

William: I will go with you to the bathroom.
Me: Why? I can go by myself.
William: I need to watch you pee because moms and dads need their kid to come and watch them pee.

Ohhh... ok lol!  I guess he finally got the memo from other kids or something that he should have been doing this for years?  Hahahaha.

Here's pic of you drinking ginger honey tea for your cough last night.. and one of you helping me cook breakfast this morning.

Grandma and the bag of cheese

Yesterday when William wanted cheddar cheese:

William: Mommy, I want cheese and chicken.
Me: Okay, go with Grandma and get the cheese out of the fridge. Grandma can help you put it on chicken.

A couple of moments later, after Grandma gets the shredded cheese, I hear William let out a frustrated grunt.

Me: What's wrong?
William: MOMMY! You have to tell Grandma not to put her hand in the cheese bag, she has to use a spoon.
Me: But she didn't put her hand in the bag, did she?
William: No, but....
Me: I think Grandma already knows that, but if you want, why don't you talk to her yourself?

William runs away like a man on a mission: GRANDMA, you have to use a spoon to get the cheese out so that you don't get germs in the bag!

This kid. Such a stickler for the rules LOL. Sorry to my mommy LOL.

I can feel it in my brain

6:30am today, William calls for us:

William: Mommy, I need medicine.
Me: Oh, how do you know?
William: I can feel it in my brain.
Me: Let me take your temperature.

He was right, his temp was 100.5!

😳😷

You can share my blanket with me!

This morning with William:

Me: How are you feeling?

Him (in a sweet singsongy voice): I'm okay, how are YOU feeling?

Me: I'm okay, just a bit tired still.

Him: You can share my blanket with me! [he covers me up and starts patting my back the way I do for him LOL]

Are you warm now, Mommy?

Me: Yes, I am, thanks baby!

Him: You're welcome, Mommy!

Sometimes I forget who's the parent LOL. And he's still sick... but still sweet. How did I get so lucky?

The purpose of this blog

Hi everyone! So... people have been saying for the longest that I should make a book or blog of all of William's sayings.  I feel like it's time to do that.  I also think the dynamic between William's and his future sibling will be great to watch.  Thus, my blog is called "Things My Kids Say" hehehe.  I hope you enjoy!!

I want to sleep in MY bed...

William is having a hard time sleeping tonight because of congestion and fever. I went to check on him just now because he was calling for me (11:30pm):

Me: Hey buddy, are you ok?
Him: I am all alone.
Me: Aww... did you wanna sleep with me and Daddy in our bed tonight?
Him: No... I want to sleep in MY bed.
Me: ....
Him: Please check on me in 2 minutes.
Me: Oh..... ok then....

[I saunter out of room]
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

What a punk. Made me feel like I was needed then he's like, "Sike, now get out of my room" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Next time, Daddy/Mommy!

HAHAHAHA -

This morning William and I sit on the couch. William sees some of Daddy's clothes on it, as Daddy pulled them off at some point after getting home yesterday and they did not make them to the hamper (which is not unusual lol):
William: Mommy, whose clothes are these in the way?
Me: Oh, those must be Daddy's. I think he forgot to put them in the hamper.
Daddy comes down the stairs.
William: Daddy, you forgot to put your clothes in the hamper!
Daddy: I did?
William: NEXT TIME DADDY, you gotta put your clothes in the hamper when you're done with them.
Daddy: You are right, thanks William for the reminder!
This kid. I'm proud, but scared too - LOL!

Daddy isn't the only one who gets reminders though - William also keeps telling me to wash the car.. and reminds me when I need to buy certain groceries for him LOL. One of his top ten phrases he says now is "Next time, Mommy/Daddy". So he polices both of us on keeping up our responsibilities LOL!

"I Will Make Them a Gift!" My thoughtful little boy :)

William making Grandpa a paper gift for his birthday >>>

One of my most favorite things about William is that we can tell he is thoughtful and appreciative. And also that he likes to do nice things for others. Recent happenings are below:

1)
Grandma: William, Grandpa got you some donut holes.
William: Grandpa got this for me?
Grandma: Yes.
William: Awwwwww. I will make him a gift!!
*Goes to make paper crafts.*
2)
Me: I got you blueberries.
William: You bought them for me?
Me: Yep!
William (in the cutest most sincere voice as though I just did the most amazing thing in the world):
Thanks, Mommy.
3)
Me: Today we are going to go visit your Aunties and Uncles.
William: I will make them a gift!!
*Runs to his paper crafts*
4)
William: Mommy, I need you to call other people's houses and see if they need a gift. If they do I will make them one. Then they can be happy.

.....We have a lot of paper crafts around the house that are gifts lol.

William: Make it 6.
Me: 6 minutes? So I'll check on you in 6 minutes.
William: Yes please.
Alrighty then! 😘😴
